THREE GENERATIONS OF WINEMAKERS

Viv Winery is the story of three generations of winemakers, that unfolds on a hill of San Marzano Oliveto, a rural town in the area of Monferrato Astigiano. In the 1950's, there was great-grandad Caligaris Giovanni, with one hectare of vineyard, making a small production of wine to be sold to locals under his own name. In the 1990's his grandson, Alessandro, expanded the property to reach 3 hectares of vineyards and converted to an environmentally friendly agriculture, inspired by the philosophy of Masanobu Fukuoka. Today, Ilaria, Alessandro's daughter, makes natural wines that are a true representation of the grapes and of our territory and reflect her vision of a sustainable future.
